A HAVEN FOR WATER SPORTS AND 4×4 FANATICS
At Boa Vista Holiday Resort, we offer a wide range of water-based activities that will help you make the most of your holiday. From canoeing and kayaking to snorkelling, windsurfing and kite surfing, there are plenty of options for everyone in the family.
Water sports enthusiasts are able to launch boats and jet skis on the Boa Vista shore, and a coral reef lies waiting for snorkellers a mere 50 metres away.
But there’s more… with both the ocean and the highest dune in Bilene located right behind Boa Vista, it’s the ideal holiday venue for anglers and 4 x 4 fanatics too. We can arrange deep-sea fishing charters for you – perfect if you’re looking for some excitement.

A short walk across the beach takes you to the colourful village of Nhabanga where you can shop, dine, and dance your way through an unforgettable experience. GLAMPING TENTS
Two ensuite glamping tents (4 sleepers) – these are beautiful luxury safari tents that are specifically designed to give you and your family a camping feeling but with style. Each tent is furnished with one queen-sized bed and two single beds. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and fridge/freezer and has its own bathroom and shower. The private garden and braai area provide the ideal opportunity to sit back and relax while taking in the breathtaking views of the lagoon and the vast night skies.
LUXURY SAFARI TENTS
Two luxury safari tents (4 sleepers), with one queen bed and 2 single beds. Each tent has its bathroom facility (outside next to the tent) as well as a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge/freezer, gas stove and braai area with its own private garden.
SELF-CATERING CHALETS
Two ensuite self-catering chalets (2 sleepers), each with one double bed and own bathroom facility. Each chalet has a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge/freezer, gas stove and braai area with its own private garden.
THE MANOR HOUSE
Manor House (8 sleeper) – the main bedroom is ensuite with a double bed. The second open-plan bedroom has two triple-tier bunk beds, which sleeps 6 guests. The Manor House has a full kitchen, a bar and a patio with braai facilities, a private garden, and a lake view.
CAMPING GROUND
Camping facilities – our grass campsites have electrical and water points as well as communal bathrooms, and the drinking water comes from an on-site tested borehole. There are several braai facilities on the camping ground.
ON-SITE BEACH BAR
Boa Vista also features a newly built bar with several outside tables, which is available to all guests to treat and stock as their own, and is just a stone’s throw away from the white sandy lake shores.

ABOUT BILENE
Bilene is situated on a hill overlooking the expansive Uembje lagoon which is approximately 27 kilometres long and 8 kilometres wide, with soft, sandy shores. Formerly known as Praio Do Bilene, it offers a laid back and colourful escape from the bright city lights. It is located in the Gaza region of Mozambique and is a two-hour drive from Maputo and a mere three-hour drive from Komatipoort. It is perfectly accessible with an ordinary vehicle.
Enjoy the glistening sunsets over the Uembje lagoon from the white sandy shores, where you will be treated to an abundance of bird life, including large flamboyances of pink flamingos, and flocks of crab-plovers and jacanas. The seemingly endless beachy shores encircling the lagoon are also ideal for long, nature-inspired walks, sundowners or beach parties. The lagoon’s tropical, calm, clear and shallow waters make it ideal for swimming. A short boat trip will take you to the mouth of the lagoon and the Mozambiquan ocean.
The village boasts many different restaurants and bars, where you can relax after a long day of sun, sea and sports. Here you can kick back and relax with endless music and dancing. The restaruants offer the best of the daily catches as well as a variety of Portuguese cuisine. Popular drinks include Tipo Tinto (rum and raspberry) or the well-known 2M beer (pronounced doish-em).
The lively and somewhat eccentric villagers will keep you entertained with a variety of wares on offer – from wood carvings to cashew nuts, curios to sarongs, and fresh produce to basic necessities. You can take in all of this while waiting for the dhows to bring back the best of the daily catch with the famous Mozambiquan prawns, crabs and a wide variety of fish. There is also a bank; a doctor; gas, petrol and diesel vendors; and a small landing strip.
Bilene is a popular watersports destination, where visitors can enjoy many activities including jetskiing, water skiing, parasailing, paddle skiing, paddle boarding, canoeing and windsurfing, with most of the equipment available for hire at the surrounding resorts.
